Poetry readings at the Salem Arts Festival

Take the rail or ferry to Salem the first weekend in June to experience this family-friendly celebration of the arts: painting, photography, sculpture, dance, music, writing, poetry, and more. Throughout the weekend, New England poets will read at the Coffeehouse Stage, and Saturday Evening there’s a poetry slam.

Dress up, bring your favorite book as your “date,” and dump it at the door—it’ll be donated to the Y2Y Homeless Shelter in Harvard Square. Porter Square Books hosts this first-annual Reader Prom, and it sounds like an event not to be missed! Enjoy free soft drinks and snacks (cash bar), music, dancing, and games.
