Bookbuilders of Boston Educational Event: Indexes in Ebooks and Embedded Indexing

In an event co-organized by Bookbuilders of Boston, the New England Chapter of the American Society for Indexing (http://newenglandindexers.org), and the Digital Publications Indexing Special Interest Group of the American Society for Indexing (https://digital-publications-indexing.org), we will learn about and discuss issues of incorporating book indexes into digital publications. This event is hosted by Bookbuilders member Cengage Learning (www.cengage.com).
Following a brief introduction on how book indexes are managed for Cengage’s print and digital publications, we will have a presentation by indexing industry expert Stephen Ingle, a Q&A, and lively discussion. There will also be networking time and light refreshments.

This is an informal meetup for new and seasoned authors to discuss challenges and opportunities in independent publishing, organized through Independent Publishers of New England (IPNE). Attendees have the opportunity to talk about their individual work and projects, brainstorm with others, and discuss publishing questions such as finding the right publishing platform, editing, design, marketing, and more. This group includes self-published authors, editors, small publishers, and representatives from IPNE and other organizations. Meetings are open to IPNE members and non-members alike, with a 50% membership discount available to those who RSVP and attend in person.
