SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - PEGASUS

Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a Software Manager to be responsible for software development of our K-16 Learning Management System.
- Manages personnel activities of software engineering staff including hiring, training, and yearly reviews.
- Provides technical leadership in research, analysis, design and implementation.
- Establishes partnerships with internal customers including Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, and Systems Architects.
- Consults with outside organizations including vendors and standards groups.
- Delivers products that meet business goals and financial objectives.
- Mentor other team members and developers.
- Work in team environment and share knowledge.
- Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities into the platform.
- Track record of delivering products on time.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, decision making and communications skills.

Required Experience:

- 8+ years experience in the implementation of highly scalable web applications using the following technologies: ASP.NET, SQL Server, AJAX, J2EE, JMS/ MQ, XML, XSL, Web Services, JDBC, SQL, HTML, REST, and SOA.
- Must have experience with managing offshore development teams.
- Must have experience with highly scalable enterprise software as service architectures.
- Experience with client-server database-driven applications using Oracle or equivalent RDBMS.
- Experience with Agile Software and Test Driven Development methodologies.
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science with a Masters degree preferred.
