Marketing Manager I

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for maximizing sales of the Precalculus list across all channels. Pearson's Precalculus list has a mix of established market-leading brands, younger series that are growing share, and groundbreaking technology-based products that are redefining the way Precalculus content can be integrated with online course management. This position would be responsible for strategically positioning products and the product line by influencing the synchronization of product development, promotional media and sales efforts in the form of successful implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan.

Create and execute innovative marketing plans that capitalize on a mix of online components, print, events, social media, and more. Develop and present sales tools, product kits, competitive information, sales meeting presentations, and other training programs for the sales force. Support sales in timely, effective ways needed to help drive adoptions. Travel to campus and conventions and analyze and develop new and existing market opportunities. Develop and maintain sales tracking systems for key title and adoptions. Develop and create strategies for conventions and other special selling events. Develop, implement, manage and analyze all marketing and competitive strategies and programs for assigned product line. Participate in market research and market development. Partner with the editorial team to strategize and guide revisions and development of new products with market-driven decisions. Participate in acquisitions, as needed. Strategize about growth of technology usage, custom opportunities, and other channels for your list. Contribute to pan-Math and pan-Pearson marketing efforts. Plan and maintain all expenditures within the budget. Manage or co-manage a Marketing Assistant.

Required Experience:

BA required. 2 years publishing sales experience necessary. Prior experience in college publishing with a knowledge of the marketing and editorial processed preferred. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills needed to strategize ideas in a team environment. Flexible, resourceful and willingness to contribute new ideas is important. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite. Travel to campus and conventions is required.
