Position Description:


New media, digital publishing, and technology play an increasingly important role in developmental education; college success programs are expanding and evolving as their value to schools becomes clear. At the same time, student, instructor, and departmental needs are growing more acute and diverse. We believe this provides a unique opportunity to develop innovative classroom solutions and to change the shape of the market. We are looking for a Boston-based sponsoring editor to help us in this effort.


Major Responsibilities:


Working closely with others in the editorial group, for both Developmental English and College Success the sponsoring editor will



  • Learn about market needs and trends

  • Sign print and media projects that meet those needs

  • Develop strong relationships with instructors and departments

  • Provide guidance on the development and marketing of the entire list

  • Assist in the marketing, selling, and supporting of the entire list

Required Skills / Knowledge:



  • A strong media background and aptitude

  • Be able to collaborate and to work independently

  • Have excellent communication and project management skills

Experience Needed:



  • 3-5 years college publishing experience, in 2 of these 3 areas: editorial, marketing, and sales

Educational Background Required:



  • College degree required

  • Teaching experience a plus


*Travel is required for this position.
