Administrative Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leading publisher of educational products in the areas of Asian languages and cultural studies seeks a capable and competent Administrative Assistant to join its growing team. This is a great career opportunity for someone who has top-notch administrative skills and an interest in publishing and/or Asian languages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support for a variety of tasks for Director of Business Operations and President, including filing, communicating with vendors and other business contacts, and handling schedules, travel, and calendars.
- Service customers including handling inquiries about products, taking phone and online orders, assisting visiting customers, and in general providing excellent service.
- Assist Director of Business Operations with projects in areas such as human resources, benefits administration, research, and process documentation.
- Oversee office needs including supplies, equipment, and office space.
- Act as Liaison to property management company.

Required Experience:

- Minimum 2 years administrative experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel) and using websites and email.
- Must be very competent at taking directions and keeping track of projects and requests; and completing projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Must have understanding of and skills in handling sensitive and confidential material.
- Possess a basic understanding of business practices in general and specifically office management, customer service, and bookkeeping.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential. You have to be able to juggle many tasks and have excellent follow-through with assignments.
- Details and accuracy are crucial to our business so you must be able to write, read, take notes, and be aware of the details of projects and instructions.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize work independently.
- Willingness to pitch in wherever and whenever needed.
- Knowledge of an Asian language and interest in our mission is preferred.
