Proj. Mgr, Digital Publishing
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager, Digital Publishing will develop new products to support the digital sales strategy of the organization. NFPAs mobile product and e-publishing lines are strategic assets that extend the NFPAs brand on emerging platforms; this position must drive user engagement, and provide new revenue for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES Product Development " Define the strategy and policies for ingesting, processing, publishing, and maintaining digital content consumed by NFPA customers. " Create and optimize processes for adding new digital content quickly. " Create and build strategic product development plan for Mobile/E-Publishing to maximize the potential of wireless platforms relating to monetization and branding. " Develop tactical plans which include product enhancements, increased distribution, and new product needs. " Ensures digital content is successfully delivered across e-reading platforms including PCs/Macs, iPad, iPhone/iPod, Android, Blackberry and Kindle and Nook. " Assist with development of product roadmap. " Keep up-to-date with latest industry trends & developments, including new technologies, and propose new online and electronic capacities to enhance NFPAs product line. " Identify opportunities for growth, strategic alliance, and partnerships.
Vendor Relationships " Establishes and prioritizes key supplier relationships. " Negotiates contracts for goods and services including: software licenses and professional services agreements. " Instrumental in facilitating the development of IT specifications and procurement documents; evaluating vendors; preparing recommendations for awarding contracts; and developing, negotiating and executing contracts as well as resolving contract problems.
Budgetary Responsibilities " Plans, prepares and manages budgets related to the responsibilities assigned above.
Required Experience:
REQUIREMENTS Position requires a Bachelor Degree; 5-7 years of hands on experience in product development; 5+ years digital content management experience; 3+ years operations experience in a technology industry; 1-2 years in a publishing environment desired. Candidate should be resourceful and driven, with proven ability to promote and execute ideas and strategies. Candidate should possess nimbleness and comfort responding quickly to rapidly evolving threats and opportunities; software programming and testing skills also highly desirable.
Salary/Hours:
Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)
