Duties and Responsibilities:
UpToDate, Inc, a subscription-based medical information resource, seeks full-time entry-level Editorial Assistant to work in dynamic office of fast-growing company. Strong organizational and time management skills, a sharp eye for detail, and excellent proofreading skills necessary.
The main tasks of the Editorial Assistant (EA) are to:
- Work in tandem with in-house physician editors to drive progress in an assigned medical specialty
- Contact and develop relationships with authors and editors; maintain communication to ensure that deadlines are met
- Maintain editorial databases through careful and thorough logging of information
- Ferry manuscripts through the editorial process, including style editing, proofreading, and sending revised versions to external editors/reviewers
- Work with others in the editorial department to get content finalized and reviewed before each publication deadline
- Maintain specialty and departmental goals on a monthly and yearly basis
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Editorial internship or medical interest a plus.
