Call for Entries

Since 1956, Bookbuilders of Boston has sponsored the New England Book Show to recognize, encourage, and celebrate excellence in bookmaking. Eligibility for acceptance of entries has become more flexible and has been expanded to include a broader spectrum of submissions. Publishers, printers, designers, artists, and students are urged to submit their best efforts of the past year.* Jury members will consider design, composition, paper, printing, and binding. The 55th Annual New England Book Show will be held in spring 2012 in Boston. The show will include the publishers’ choices as well as the jury’s selection of books, multimedia products, and covers and jackets, as well as two recently added categories, Book Arts and Student Work, and two new categories, Digital Books and Publishers’ Sales Catalogs.

Entry Deadline February 6, 2012

Eligibility
In the past entries had to be produced by a New England publisher. Entries now will be accepted from any publisher, supplier engaged in designing, producing, or manufacturing books, artist who has produced a book as an art object, or student who has produced a book for a class; the only criterion is that the entrant be in one of the New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Entries need not have been produced exclusively in New England, nor is membership in Bookbuilders of Boston required. Directories, calendars, periodicals, pamphlets, and promotional pieces are not eligible.
