Explore the collections of the Burns Library at Boston College and learn about their work to preserve the printed word. Robert O'Neill, Burns Librarian, will conduct a tour of the library's collections followed by a tour of the Preservation Department with Mark Esser, Book Conservator. Visit the working space of a studio photographer and learn how to run a photo shoot from lighting to model handling to image editing. Ken O'Donoghue does photographic work for corporate marketing materials and educational textbooks. Guests will have the opportunity to view his range of work and his studio equipment while visiting.

See how paper is created and learn about the history of the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States. From tree to pulp to sheet, shining or matte, you'll come away with a deeper understanding of the process of making paper.
