Spring Educational Seminars:
Rights and Permissions

March 5, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at Pearson, 501 Boylston Street, Boston MA

Speakers Include:
Caitlin O'Brien, Director of Rights Management, Vista Higher Learning

Don't overlook publishing careers in the areas of rights and permissions--from selling and buying permissions for 3rd-party material, to rights management, to the deals made in subrights, there are a lot of varied aspects to the field. Hear from fellow publishing professionals, who will describe what they do and how their company's needs are changing, and answer questions from the audience. Admission is free, but please do register so that we can notify you of any changes (such as inclement weather cancellation).

Copyright Clearance Center will provide refreshments and briefly describe the ways that they work with publishers to remove friction in the rights marketplace.

If you decide to take public transportation, please take the MBTA Red Line to the JFK/UMass Boston "T" Station (http://www.mbta.com/). From the Red Line JFK/UMass Boston "T" Station, take the free UMass Boston Route 1 or 2 shuttle bus to the Campus Center.

If you are driving to campus, it is recommended you go directly to the UMass Boston Bayside Lot, located at 200 Mt. Vernon Street, where a free university shuttle will bring you to campus. The shuttle bus will drop you off at the Campus Center.
